Today I am sharing my style delicious and easy-to-make bread pocket. it is an ideal snack for kids tiffin, adults evening tea snacks, kitty party and many more occasions. The best part is that you can customize the fillings to suit your choice. “Furthermore It can be served with a variety of side dishes such as chutneys and different type of sauces. Ingredients
- Bread Slices – 10
- Onion – 1
- Green chilies – 2 or as per your taste
- Kabuli Chana – 1 bowl (katori)
- Tomato – 1/2 sliced
- Coriander Stems – 1 tablespoon
- Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
- olive oil – 1 tablespoon
Dry Spices
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- salt to taste
Dressing items
- Cucumber – as per your required
- Few salad leaves
- Sour sauce
- Tomato sauce
For Slurry
- Refined flour – 1/2 cup
- Water – 1/2 cup
- Salt – 1/4th teaspoon
- Garlic Powder – 1/4th teaspoon
For Coating
- Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
Instructions
For preparing the Slurry
In a bowl, add refined flour, salt and garlic powder and mix it well. keep aside for further use.
For preparing the Coating
In a medium size plate, add bread crumb and keep aside for further use.
For preparing the filling
Sliced onion, green chilies, tomato and coriander stems.
Heat oil in a pan on medium heat, once it’s hot add onion and green chili and sauté until they turn translucent.
Add cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well, cook at least 2-3 minutes.
Add tomato sliced and cooked 1 minutes.
Now add kabuli chana and again cooked 2-3 minutes and turn off the gas. Keep the filling aside.
Bread slices preparation
Take the two bread slices at a one time place and one over the other. Now flatten it out with a rolling pin.
Cut the bread slices into round shape with a bowl or cookie cutter.
For Frying
Dip the prepared bread slice into slurry.
Now, coat each bread slices into the breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a pan, once the oil is medium hot, drop the one by one bread slice into the oil and fry until it turns into a golden brown color. Repeat the frying process with the remaining bread slices.
Remove on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
For assembling Bread pocket
Now cut the fried bread pockets into two pieces with using a knife.
Take half fried bread and place the salad leaves in the center of the bread pocket. Apply sour sauce and tomato sauce on salad leaves, place the cucumber slices on the sour sauce and prepared chana masala. Bread Pocket is ready to be served with some sauce or chutney.
