Plain Lauki ki Sabji
Lauki also called Doodhi, Ghia, Kaddu, and Bottle gourd. Plain Lauki ki Sabji (bottle gourd curry) recipe is very easy to make. This is vegan, gluten free, keto and low carb recipe. Lauki ki sabji, also known as bottle gourd curry, is a delicious and nutritious dish. This Indian vegetarian recipe is made with tender bottle gourd cooked in a flavorful blend of spices and seasonings. Ingredients
- Lauki or Doodhi – 500 grams
- Tomato – 100 grams or 1 medium size
- Green chili – 6 grams or 2
- Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic paste – 10 grams or ½ tablespoon
- Turmeric Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Mustard oil – 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
Method
1 – Peeled the outer skin and wash it. Chop lauki in small size.
2 – Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Once hot add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
3 – Add chopped lauki, followed by salt, turmeric powder, green chili and garlic paste. As lauki or doodhi contain too much water so adjust salt accordingly. Stir well and cover and cook over low to medium flame.
4 – Open the lid and stir after 5 minutes and check if the lauki have became soft and moist add chopped tomato and mix well.
5 – Cover and cook until lauki becomes tender and semi dry. Once it gets cooked properly switch off the gas and add coriander leaves and mix well.
6 – Serve hot with Roti or Paratha or Boiled rice.
