Ingredients
- Green peas (hara matar) – 150 grams
- Tomato – 1
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili – 1/2 teaspoon
- Ginger paste – 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chilies – 2 (chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Asafoetida – a pinch
- Mastard oil – 2 tablespoons
- Cumin seeds – 1/2
- Dry red chilies – 2
- Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons
Method
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, Asafoetida and dry red chilies, and let them splutter.
- Add green peas (hara matar) and mix well. Now we will cover and cook until softened.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder garlic paste, chopped green chilies and sauté until the raw smell disappears. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and 1 tablespoon coriander leaves, cook until they become soft and oil starts to separate. Turn off the gas.
